Goal Setting For The New Year

I never really liked the term coined “new year’s resolution.”  There just seems something about it that doesn’t appear to be permanent.  I don’t think resolution is the word to use anyway.  How about goal or goal setting.  Doesn’t that sound more attainable?  Something you can grasp?  I mean we do have to admit that 95% of the 45% of the population that made a new year resolution this year, won’t make it past the end of January before they quit or forget about their resolution.  But what if I could share with you a concept that could guaranttee that you would have success by using goal setting this new year instead of a resolution?

Daniel Goleman in his book, Primal Leadership:  Realizing the Power of Emotional Intelligence, Harvard Business School Press, 2002, on p ix, asserts that, “The fundamental task of leaders, we argue, is to prime good feeling in those they lead.  That occurs when a leader creates resonance – a reservoir of positivity that frees the best in people.  At its root, then, the primal job of leadership is emotional.”

Positive Thinking Tips To Get Your Through The Day

It’s no secret that keeping a good mental attitude is important in life. Here’s three optimistic thinking tricks that will keep your spirits up during tough times. It can be challenging to have a positive outlook on life, when life’s circumstances don’t go your way.
The 1st of my optimistic thinking tips is to get in the pattern of asking yourself the right questions. What do I mean by this? First of all, our frame of mind is mainly based on the questions we ask ourselves every single day. Not convincing enough for you? Pay attention to your thoughts and emotions for an hour or so. The problem is that most people ask themselves poor questions. Questions like “Why does this always happen to me?” or “How come life has to be so hard?” These kinds of questions are based on the assumption that bad situations always happens to you and that life is tough. This only drills these beliefs deeper into your head and solidifies them as your experience the world.
What if instead, you started asking yourself questions that were more resourceful and more optimistic? Maybe things like “How did I get to be so lucky?” or “What can I be excited about today?” These reinforce even more positive beliefs into your mind and enable you stay positive. It might be tough at first to modify your thought process (since you’ve been thinking and asking yourself the same style of questions for awhile), but is the results are worth it.
Another positive thinking tip is to keep a record of all the things you are thankful for in a gratitude diary. This could be as convenient as keeping a little journal by your bed and writing down everything you are grateful for that happened to you that day. Write down what you are grateful for in your everyday life. This can be anything at all. I remember once I wrote down “I am grateful I caught the bus to work just in time today” and then the next day I wrote “I am grateful I missed the bus because it gave me time to read the newspaper in a cafe while I waited for the next bus.” If you implement this into your every day life, you will start to look at life with an optimistic attitude, helping you remain more positive.
The last of my positive thinking tips is to sit down and write about your ideal life, specifically the way you want it to be. Write it out in pain-staking detail. In my experience with this, I wrote as much as ten pages worth of specifics on how I desire my life to be. I described where I wanted to live, how much money I wanted to make, what I wanted to do for work, and all the wonderful places I would travel to. Doing this may take some time, but it will make you feel so good and so determined to make your aspirations come true, that I firmly suggest you find the time to give it a shot.
Stick to these simple tips and soon you see that your perspective about life will transform for the better. Remember, you control your thoughts, your thoughts controls your emotions which will help control your desired outcomes all with positive thinking.

Times have changed and so has the competitive landscape of business management. Traditional business models told business owners and executives that to become more competitive, you had to invent something new to sell or service, or improve an existing product or service. That was all there was to it. In general terms, the inputs and outputs haven’t changed much, but companies are continuously changing their internal processes to improve company performance. How so and what does this mean to the business world?

The service is given at free anger management centers.  To know if you need the service, you should evaluate your reaction in a situation where your anger is triggered. When you do not have your way, do you hit back at the people around you? Do you make the lives of all those around you miserable or do you control it and allow your life to go on as normally as you possibly can?
